On the suggestion of some of my friends over at The Sookieverseblog I began to watch 'The Vampire Diaries'... and I LOVE IT. Just like TB one character in particular is the reason for my currently new Fanfic love.
I've only just started reading TVD Fanfics, but want to share some of my favourites so far.
Ciara2531 is one damn good writer. She has written 19 TVD based fics, many of them one shots. Her stories are 3rrd POV fics, mainly centered around either Elena or Damon. Many of her one shots are very angsty and a little depressing, as is Damon's journey in the show at the points she is writing at. A really great complete chapter fic is Care For A Sip. This takes us on a trip with Damon and Elena, after Damon shows Elena that there is real pleasure in taking her blood, not just for him, but for her too. It's compelling and just damn fun to read. You have to check out all her fics, very well written and just emotionally charged.
Miss Symone has only written one TVD fic (she normally writes Buffy fics) but she took the heart breaking scene from episode 2.08 'Rose' when Damon lays his heart bare to Elena, only to compel her to forget.... but what he didn't count on was the small hemp bracelet on her left wrist. ongoing, and just plain great :)
AJzkitten69's I Want To Feel Through You Delena of course. Elena's dreams are telling her how important it is to remember, and she must do so in time to save Damon from himself. They must stand together against the coming danger, but first, Elena needs to recover the memory she lost.
Turn Off The Light by prettydeadgirl shows us a dark Damon:- Something in Damon snapped. Just as quickly as the force that snapped Jeremy's neck. Damon was always made to feel second best; and he no longer wants to care about living in Stefan's shadow. A story about Damon's struggle with humanity.
Temptress-Kitten17 has written some pretty cool, but pure smut Delena fics... take your pick :)
This is all I've found compelling enough to recommend as of yet, BUT I always check out new stories and look at who they have favorite to find more. If you spot more... let me know!!!

A Few Of My Favourites
I was chatting to some of my twilight twitter girl at our local Christmas meet-up last year and i was trying to educate them in the way of the Sookieverse. From that conversation the question was asked: What would you recommend to read coming new to the fandom. So here are some of my favourites. Most are complete, though any sequel from them might not be :)
From the beautiful brain of BonTempsBaby Pour Some Sugar On Me This is set after book 8 (FDTW), so the Fae War never happened, we haven't lost Claudine and Niall hasn't shut the door. It's an awesome look at the development of Eric and Sookie's relationship after the takeover. Its action package and so totally absorbing. She has a way with words that is just captivating. I remember reading her updates last christmas and was so taken up in the world that i (and many others) became sick and distraught over some of the things she did. This fic and the sequel Addicted To Love are brilliant and are one of my favorites.
The best CANON fic hands down is by the brilliant DeeDeeINFJ. This women has made Eric come alive for us, in her fic aptly named Eric She takes us on the journey of the Sookieverse through Eric's eyes. From their first meeting in Fangtasia when Sookie makes Bill bring her to find the killer of Maudette and Dawn, to the attack of Pam and Sookie by Victors cronies, DeeDee shows us Eric's POV all the books, and gives us a look at the possible motives to the things we've only seen from Sookie's viewpoint. Totally mind blowingly brilliant, and a great to read again and again, especially along side canon.
The next two are from the lovely Thyra10 The first one is the awesome fic Dead with the Vikings Set after the first chapter of DITF, Sookie wakes up in a bed a 1000 years ago without knowing how she got there. It's a great read, taking Sookie on a great adventure through time with the Human Eric. It has intrigue, adventure, angst and a HEA. The second fic Dead without a Work Permit isn't complete, but i couldn't not recommend this. This AH/AU fic see Sookie being tricked by Eric to go to his home country, Norway. Soon she is working for Eric and living in his house. AU and AH, but still the same Eric and Sookie - only in human form. Eric and Sookie are just the same as in canon, just in human form. The great thing about this fic is that Thyra has taken many of the major events in the books and applied them to Human Eric and Sookie. It's great to see what she has done with AE, the takeover and even Lorena. Brilliant.
Yogagal has several great completed Eric and Sookie fics, Table For One. An AH fic that has Sookie as a waitress an at upscale restaurant. Eric is one of her regular customers, who barely talks to her. What happens when they slowly start to get to know each other? It's a great journey of growth for our two favourite couples, with some great moments :)
Suki59 has written a massive 50+ fics, mostly SVM centered o/s. Suki runs the weekly one-shots now and a lot of her recent updates are for them or numerous contest that are around. There are so many to choice from... i can't pick just one.
Seastarr08 is another well-known author in the fandom, having created some of the best orginial characters, and given Eric & Sookie some great adventures. She too has to many excellents to choose just one, so click on her link and read them all :)
Scribeninja has created one of the most loved Eric's out there.... Nerd Eric. A funny look at a nerdy virgin Eric and Sookie and his adventures.
Pixiegiggles is a fun loving Nutella lover who has created two great stories. One is The FStop which has Sookie as a barmaid and aspiring photographer. Her world changes when she runs into famous actor Eric Northman at the opening of her first gallery show. The other isn't complete, but still worth the read. Dead To Her World is set six months after DAG. Sookie is just about to start her life with Sam and get away from all the crazy vampire shit, when she finds herself running down a dark country road. What is so awesome about this fic is that it's all from Eric's POV.
Afalcone10 has written a AU canon fic called Dead To My World This is an awesome look at the developement of Eric and Sookie's relationship IF the first time Sookie meet Eric running down the street half naked in the middle of the night. This isn't complete just yet, but is only a few chapters away from ending. It's an awesome look into the first 3 books.
FarDareisMai2 was one of the first authors in the FF world that I read. Most of my Twi friends will know her already for her great twifics, but i'm not sure if they have move onto her SVM ones. House Of Flesh OnFire is an AU/AH fic, that has Professor Northman teaches English at a distinguished liberal arts college. Sookie Stackhouse is an English major. Yeah, you know it's wrong. It's a great adventure, filled with love, angst and a awesome HEA.
Anything from this author is a must read. Meg2 has written 3 complete set of Eric and Sookie stories, with each set comprising of at least 7 separate fics. The latest collection of fics is set AFTER 'Dead and Gone' and takes us on a adventure of Epic proportions. Meg2 has created one of the best Original Characters i've ever read, Cadel being one of Eric's Brothers. Megs look at the Sookieverse and Sookie's place in the supernatural world is heart warming and heart breaking at times. She is one of the best authors i've ever read in this fandom... Brilliant.
The lovely Miss Construed has written 12 stories in the Sookieverse, and one of her best is Sorry Ladies Northmans Off the Market. This story takes us on an adventure with Sookie. She moves back to Shreveport and reunites with her old friend Pam. She soon finds herself not only intrigued by Pam's attractive older brother, but in over her head with him in a role-playing scheme. It is great fun and really worth the read.
One of the most exciting and brilliant writers in the Sookieverse is Ericizmine She wrote the epic Saints & Sinners Eric heads to Bon Temps to speak to Corbett Stackhouse and finds Sookie first. It's like Criminal Minds, with all our favourite SVM characters. It's funny and amazing, and it's all from Eric's POV. My personal favourite story of her is the just recently completed Bored To Death. This brilliantly written fic looking at 'What if Sookie's first visit to Fangtasia had gone differently. The Sookie found within is a little OOC in some parts, but she is the best of what CH has given us.
